Definition of X-ray Detectors
X-ray detectors are devices
which are used in measuring the spatial distribution, flux, spectrum, and/or a
few other properties of X-rays.These detectors are primarily segmented into two
key categories – dose measurement and imaging detectors. Analog X-ray systems
used photographic plates and films for image detecting purpose. Nevertheless,
there has been a considerable technology shift which has led to digital x-ray
systems instead of analog; the photographic films and plates are swiftly
substituted by digital image plates which are also termed as flat panel
detectors. Geiger counters, ionization chambers, and dosimeters are used to
determine the local radiation exposure, dose, and/or dose rate; for instance,
to affirm and verify that radiation protection equipment and procedures are

sensitive and quicker than a photographic film. With constantly enhancing
